Katie Serafen Koonce, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at Sanford Dermatology. She sees patients at the Sanford and Lillington locations. Katie has a passion for both medical and cosmetic dermatology.
A native of Atlanta, GA, Katie attended college at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. She received a Master of Medical Science degree from Mercer University’s PA program and has previous experience in dermatology, emergency medicine, and family medicine.
Katie looks forward to seeing patients of all ages, as well as developing personalized treatment plans for her patients. She is eager to form relationships and provide the best care possible to her patients with acute and chronic skin conditions. She is empathetic, efficient, and a critical thinker.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, black lab and golden retriever, as well as family and friends. She also loves travel, exercising, true crime podcasts, and trying new restaurants in the triangle area.
